Happy 4th...

...almost 4 weeks later! Oops, I am a slow blogger. Oh well!

Before we left for Idaho we made yummy sour cream 4th cookies. Here is Brayden enjoying some frosting!

We went to the IF Zoo. It is the perfect size for little kids!

We saw lions, tigers, Matthews and Hadleys. (Please ignore the nice shot of my backside)

Almost there Matthew!

Welcome to Mud Town! My in-laws are finishing some remodeling and most of their backyard is dirt and rocks (Brayden was in heaven!) Take special note of the color of the water in the pool! We hear that mud is good for the skin :o)

We went camping for the Scoresby family reunion. Smores, tractors, and little camping chairs what more could you want?

Since we were camping over the 4th we had our own little fireworks show!

All of Nate's sisters and brother were there. So we had to get a shot of all of the John Scoresby grandkids. Looking pretty good, 12 grandkids plus 2 more on the way!

Memories

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

Hooray! I figured it out. Here are the promised pic. Sorry the first one is really hard to read but it really does say, "Free Taters for Out-of-Staters"

I love Idaho!

So...I am a little bored. Nate is at scout camp and the boys went to bed a little before 7, they were tired that is not usual. So I thought what a good time to catch up on blogging! Oops, Nate took the camera to scout camp and I haven't downloaded any recent pic. So I can't show you any pic from our fun time in Idaho for the 4th of July! I was searching through old photos of Idaho and I found this pearl (this is right outside IF):

My other favorite billboard said, "Free Taters for Out of Staters" It is no longer there but my roommates and I always got a good chuckle at that one. My roommate Amy and I went to the potato expo in Blackfoot (that is where you could claim your taters) but they were closed so we just settled for getting our pic taken in front of the giant size (literally it is half as long as the building) baked potato. I really have pic of these but my scanner isn't working...ok more truth I really don't know how to use it, I will admit it I am computer illiterate. One day I will post it for your viewing pleasure!

Also did you know that the birthplace of television is in Rigby ID? Yup, it is true Philo T Farnsworth (it was a question on Jeopardy so it must be true!) There is a big billboard of that one too, small town claim to fame gotta love it!

I really do love Idaho, I just like to tease my husband...a lot. My favorite is that Idaho Falls claims to have the biggest fireworks show west of the Mississippi and people come from all over the nation just to see it. Bet you didn't know that one either! This story is printed in the Idaho Falls Register every year and Nate has to point it out to me every year cause everything that is in the paper is true :o) Truth be told it is the best fireworks show I have ever seen and I look forward to it every year, just don't tell my husband it is too much fun to tease him about his small town roots!!

Little Superman

This afternoon I took Matthew upstairs to change his messy diaper(yeah, potty trainning not going so well right now) and as he was lying down he bumped his head on the metal bed frame. Here the basic conversation that followed:
He said "Ow my bed hurt."
And I said, "Don't you mean your head hurts?"
He said, "No bed!"
So I said, "I know you hit the bed but does the bed hurt or does your head hurt?"
He thinks about this for a sec and says, "Bed hurts!"
Apparently he has quite a hard little head! Made of steal? Who knows!

10K

Two weeks ago Nate and I ran a 10K in Flagstaff AZ. It is the longest I have ever run in my life (hey I am a swimmer not a runner). And I almost cried at the end, pathetic I know but a major accomplishment for me! My parents came up from Phoenix and watched the boys for us while we were running. It was a fun goal to work towards with Nate. He is a very motivating running partner. I am the lazy one who always wants to stop but he grabs my arm and pulls me (literally). Anyway we did pretty good, our official time was 1:01:42. The best part of the whole race was the slip-n-slide that some kids set up in their front yard at mile 5. By then my legs were done so I just fell and there wasn't a whole lot of sliding but it was worth it. The water was cold and gave me a jolt and helped me pick up the pace. The only downside was running a mile in wet socks. Oh well, still worth it! The other cool thing was we had electronic timers on our ankles so when we got close to the finish line our names popped up on their computer and the announcer guy said our names over the loud speakers. Pretty cool.

We had fun and I am glad that we did it! We are thinking about another one...maybe! We just aren't going to pick a place that is 6000 feet higher in elevation, yeah I was wheezing at the end! I am trying to convince Nate to do a triathlon but he is scared of the swimming, dang it the only thing that I am good at!

PS. I forgot to bring my camera but my mom brought hers but she can't figure out how to download them to her computer :o) So, no pic yet!
