Hooray! I figured it out. Here are the promised pic. Sorry the first one is really hard to read but it really does say, "Free Taters for Out-of-Staters"

I love Idaho!

So...I am a little bored. Nate is at scout camp and the boys went to bed a little before 7, they were tired that is not usual. So I thought what a good time to catch up on blogging! Oops, Nate took the camera to scout camp and I haven't downloaded any recent pic. So I can't show you any pic from our fun time in Idaho for the 4th of July! I was searching through old photos of Idaho and I found this pearl (this is right outside IF):

My other favorite billboard said, "Free Taters for Out of Staters" It is no longer there but my roommates and I always got a good chuckle at that one. My roommate Amy and I went to the potato expo in Blackfoot (that is where you could claim your taters) but they were closed so we just settled for getting our pic taken in front of the giant size (literally it is half as long as the building) baked potato. I really have pic of these but my scanner isn't working...ok more truth I really don't know how to use it, I will admit it I am computer illiterate. One day I will post it for your viewing pleasure!

Also did you know that the birthplace of television is in Rigby ID? Yup, it is true Philo T Farnsworth (it was a question on Jeopardy so it must be true!) There is a big billboard of that one too, small town claim to fame gotta love it!

I really do love Idaho, I just like to tease my husband...a lot. My favorite is that Idaho Falls claims to have the biggest fireworks show west of the Mississippi and people come from all over the nation just to see it. Bet you didn't know that one either! This story is printed in the Idaho Falls Register every year and Nate has to point it out to me every year cause everything that is in the paper is true :o) Truth be told it is the best fireworks show I have ever seen and I look forward to it every year, just don't tell my husband it is too much fun to tease him about his small town roots!!

Little Superman

This afternoon I took Matthew upstairs to change his messy diaper(yeah, potty trainning not going so well right now) and as he was lying down he bumped his head on the metal bed frame. Here the basic conversation that followed:
He said "Ow my bed hurt."
And I said, "Don't you mean your head hurts?"
He said, "No bed!"
So I said, "I know you hit the bed but does the bed hurt or does your head hurt?"
He thinks about this for a sec and says, "Bed hurts!"
Apparently he has quite a hard little head! Made of steal? Who knows!

10K

Two weeks ago Nate and I ran a 10K in Flagstaff AZ. It is the longest I have ever run in my life (hey I am a swimmer not a runner). And I almost cried at the end, pathetic I know but a major accomplishment for me! My parents came up from Phoenix and watched the boys for us while we were running. It was a fun goal to work towards with Nate. He is a very motivating running partner. I am the lazy one who always wants to stop but he grabs my arm and pulls me (literally). Anyway we did pretty good, our official time was 1:01:42. The best part of the whole race was the slip-n-slide that some kids set up in their front yard at mile 5. By then my legs were done so I just fell and there wasn't a whole lot of sliding but it was worth it. The water was cold and gave me a jolt and helped me pick up the pace. The only downside was running a mile in wet socks. Oh well, still worth it! The other cool thing was we had electronic timers on our ankles so when we got close to the finish line our names popped up on their computer and the announcer guy said our names over the loud speakers. Pretty cool.

We had fun and I am glad that we did it! We are thinking about another one...maybe! We just aren't going to pick a place that is 6000 feet higher in elevation, yeah I was wheezing at the end! I am trying to convince Nate to do a triathlon but he is scared of the swimming, dang it the only thing that I am good at!

PS. I forgot to bring my camera but my mom brought hers but she can't figure out how to download them to her computer :o) So, no pic yet!

Cracking me up

Today has been a fun day. The boys have just been doing and saying things that have been cracking me up all day.

1. Driving in the car to swim lessons. I was sitting behind a truck at a stop sign and she just wasn't moving. So I said, "Come on honey, go!" Then from the back seat I hear Matthew say, "Honey go!" (Thank heavens I didn't say anything worse than that!)

2. Brayden is totally interested in everything that Matthew is doing and playing with. So he has learned to quickly steal the toy from Matthew and then run to me, give me a big hug and then sit on my lap and play with the toy quickly before Matthew can come take it back.

3. Matthew is really starting to be more imaginative in his play like today he was having his cars talk to each other. He also will either tell Brayden to come on and follow him or he tells his toys to hurry up and run away because Brayden is coming.

4. Matthew actually willingly used the potty today but only because he had all of his toy cars use the potty first. Whatever I will take it! Now if I could just get him to poop in the potty. Baby steps right?

5. We went out for dinner and Nate made a quick turn into the parking lot and Matthew told him to be careful and not crash the car.

6. Then later Nate was teasing me and so I playfully punched him in the arm and Matthew laughed and then told me that wasn't nice and I shouldn't hit. Nate thought that was funny so he continued to tease me and I couldn't do anything about it.

7. We were out running errands this evening and on our way home Nate yawned. Then we hear a little yawn from Matthew in the backseat. So Nate yawned again and then another yawn from the backseat. So Nate fake yawns and then Matthew fake yawns (he was really hamming it up) and then we hear Brayden fake yawn followed by a "ha ha" It was hilarious!

That is all I can remember. I am sure that some of these you probably had to be there or you have to be really easily entertained!

I am tired and going to bed. So I will have to post pictures from our trip to AZ for Father's Day later! Here is one picture for your viewing pleasure:

Too bad he will never get to use this umbrella in sunny Las Vegas! He sure had fun playing with it in the house!

Oh No

The climbing has begun. Brayden learned how to climb unto the couch, chairs and dishwasher within 24 hours. And he is so proud of himself. Oh my! Things are going to get interesting. (When Matthew was 16 months he pulled himself up unto a kitchen chair, grabbed the phone and called 9-1-1. I came up stairs with a load of laundry and heard a lady on the other end say, "this isn't funny, I am going to send a police car to your house!" Of course this just made Matthew smile bigger.)
Climbing stages are fun. Time to put everything up one more level higher!

Pickle Juice and Ink

Yesterday I was making sandwiches and I ran upstairs to take a load of laundry to be folded (I hate ironing so as soon as it is done in the dryer it has to be folded) and I came back downstairs to find Matthew with a straw and the pickle jar. As soon as I walked in the room he smiled and said, "Mmm Mom this juice good!"

Then today the neighbor kids were over playing and one of them came to me and said, "Brayden is uhmm needs your help" Oh no that wasn't very encouraging. Of course I had been talking to my mom (ever notice that all bad things seem to happen when you are on the phone or internet?). Brayden had gotten a hold of the ink pad and of course stuck it in his mouth! This picture hardly does it justice as it was all over his hands and feet and dripping everywhere!
