Christmas in July and Wedding

So I bought some train tracks for Matthew for his birthday back in April but we ended up going to Disneyland. So I was going to try to save them for Christmas but Matthew found them and well that was the end of that. So once he finished his job chart we let him have it. Actually it has worked out great, since it has been so hot here he needed a new toy to play with! And he has been very entertained and not wanting to watch TV all day. I think this might become a new tradition, Christmas in July!

This past weekend Nate and I were able to go over to California for one of my really good friends from college's wedding. It was in Laguna Beach and it was beautiful. My wonderful sister came down from Utah to stay with the boys so we could go! It was wonderful!

The wedding wasn't until 6pm on Sunday so we went to Sacrament meeting and then went to walk around the Newport Beach temple. It is a really pretty temple.

The wedding was on a little cliff overlooking the ocean and the sun was setting. It was just so gorgeous!

Me, Tamara(the beautiful bride) and Dianna. It is hard to believe that we graduated from ASU 6 years ago! Time flys!

Lately I have been pretty tired from pregnancy, the heat and my back has been really hurting. So I tend to fall asleep rather quickly if I sit down or lay down with the heating pack on my back. The other day I was reading to the boys and then they started playing with their toys and the next thing I knew I was asleep on the couch. Nate came home and Matthew went downstairs and told him that he was cleaning up the toys upstairs (yeah right) but that he had to be quiet. Nate said, "Oh is Brayden asleep?" and Matthew said, "No, Mom is!" Oops! Anyway, so my poor kids have to fend for themselves sometimes, mostly just Matthew. So the other day I was resting my back and I totally feel asleep and I woke up and found Matthew on the couch like this! That is Nate's camping flashlight on his head and a movie was on!

3 down 2 to go...

until Nate gets his basketball team!

It is a little hard to tell but it really is a boy, he left no doubt for us!

Here is a profile picture. It is fun to see the ultrasound and see his little hands and feet, it is always amazing!

And of course the alien shot!

This little boy is scheduled to make his grand apperance December 10th 2009!

4th of July

This year for the 4th we headed up to nice cool Idaho. It was great! And really hard to come home back to the heat! (Warning lots and lots of pictures to follow!)

On our way up we stopped in Utah and went through the Oquirrh Mountain Temple open house. It was really beautiful inside. Matthew did really well and Brayden well lets just say he is a 2 year old. Can you tell that it is really bright outside?

Our boys being really reverent. This lasts for about 2.5 seconds!

Family pictures are hard to get!

We had our own little fireworks show in Idaho! Matthew loved sparklers. Actually he is a little scary with them and I really thought he was going to light someone on fire the way he was waving that thing around.

Brayden liked the fireworks from a distance so he hung out with me while the "big" boys lit off the fireworks!

Early in the morning on the 4th Nate ran a 5k with his sister and brother. I stayed home to watch the kids and sleep in :o)

Here we are at the parade! Brayden loved all of the motorcycles and Matthew thought it was the coolest thing that people would just throw out candy!

Yeah a good family pic! Everyone is looking! We are just hanging out waiting for the fireworks to start.

More hanging out! The boys love their Grandpa Scoresby!

Our boys after a long day of eating, playing and watching fireworks! I don't think anything could have woken them up, they were out! Actually Matthew fell asleep about 10-15 minutes before the fireworks were over but Brayden stayed awake the whole time! After it was over he started clapping and then he waved goodbye to the fireworks!

On Sunday Nate's sister Julie blessed her little baby, Katelyn. This is the Scoresby crew that was there for the event.

11 out of 15 grandkids!

Outside all the kids were playing and Aunt Carrie too (she is the fun Aunt!)

All of the adults were outside talking and watching the kids ride their bikes. Matthew came up to me and told me that he needed to take a picture of all of us. Not too bad, maybe we will make him be the family photographer! (on a side note we aren't on the grass because the boys had just finished laying the sod)

Updates

Well, last weekend my sister, her 4 kids, my parents and my other sister came into town to visit. It was so fun to have everyone here! It was a little crazy having 6 kids running around but we loved it! I didn't actually get out my camera much but here are a couple of shots.

Matthew now loves to look at the comics in the paper. He gets out the paper all by himself and is entertained looking at the pictures for quite a while! Here he is with his cousin.

Brayden and his cousin Jana were running up and down our street with just diapers on without a care in the world! Jana is 18 months but Brayden kept calling her the "baabee" (Baby) and Jana kept calling Brayden the baby. It was pretty cute!

I had to include a few pictures of our trouble maker. I freaked out a little when I walked in the kitchen and saw this and Brayden looked at me like this was totally normal. Silly boy!

Brayden also found the Lightening McQueen stickers and put them all over my floor. Then he laid there and kept saying, "I love you Lightening!"

Job Chart

We have started Matthew on a job chart. He does pretty good for some of his jobs (taking out the trash and unloading the silverware) and others are a struggle (picking up his toys and being a good listener the first time). So this past time around with the job chart we told him that when he finished we would get him a bike, usually we just get him a small toy at the dollar store. We have been meaning to get him a bike anyway since he is growing out of his big wheel so this seemed like the perfect way to do it!

Matthew and Brayden with their completed job charts! Brayden doesn't really do too much but he can't be left out especially when there are Lightening McQueen stickers involved!

Matthew taking his first ride down the street on his new bike.

All ready to go! He did great the first day. He even fell off a few times and he just jumped right back on. But now he is a little bit scared of falling off and we have to encourage him a little bit more and walk right next to him. I am sure with a little more practice he will be a pro!

Now we are on to another job chart. His new chore is making his bed. This is his first and only attempt so far! Not too bad for his first time and with no help from me. He went and did this all by himself but right now he is refusing to do it again. Maybe because we haven't promised him anything great, nothing will be able to live up to the bike!

Hanging Out

Yesterday I got together with 2 of my college roommates from Ricks. It was so fun to catch up and see each other's kids. And talk about old times and pranks. It was fun to be 18 for a while :o)

Some of the kids. Brayden caught a ride and then kept petting the little boy in front of him. Silly boy!

5 Minutes

Give 2 little boys 5 minutes alone and this is what you get:

Seriously I just went upstairs to grab another load of laundry to put in the washer! After this they moved on to watering down the sandbox and each other! Is it bad that my first thought when I saw them was, "At least they kept the hose outside"? Matthew did bring the hose inside once and I don't think that I ever blogged about it, I was a little upset that my kitchen was flooded!
(This is Matthew and his friend from across the street. Brayden was safely inside playing with toys)
