Easter Egg Hunt...finally!

So last night after our Easter FHE lesson, the Easter Bunny called to tell us that he finally came to visit us! He let us know that he was just waiting for Matthew to feel better! What a nice Easter Bunny :o)

Brayden with his stash!
We love the Easter Bunny! Everytime I turn around Brayden is covered in chocolate! Hopefully the candy will all be gone soon :)

Summertime is Here!

It was really warm outside so I let the boys play outside in the sprinkler. I was in the kitchen eating lunch with the door open so I could hear them. When I went outside this is what I found:
Brayden dripping wet holding the sprinkler.

And Matthew still pretty dry hiding. I have a feeling Brayden had a little help getting dripping wet and was trying to seek his revenge!
Also, today I bought our first watermelon of the year! It isn't all that great but we love watermelon! And we are totally excited it is almost watermelon season again!

Matthew had his first T-Ball game today and I have to say it was very entertaining to watch!

Matthew and some of his teammates waiting for their turn to bat.

Matthew batting!

His first hit!

Coming home!

During the 3rd inning Matthew gave up and headed for the playground! Actually most of the kids gave up during the third inning. I think next game after 2 inning the coach is going to call it good!

One of the little boys on Matthew's team also decided that he was done and laid down in the middle of the field and pretended to be asleep.

Other highlights included a dogpile of players fighting over fielding the ball. A couple of boys who after hitting the ball instead of running to the base tried to chase after the ball and catch it. And there was lots of crazy base running. Also at one point Matthew had his mitt on his head eating a granola bar watching the balls go right by him!

It is going to be a fun season! I didn't have a chance to take a picture of Matthew before the game because I didn't wake up until 8:30 and the game started at 9:00 (Nate is outta town and I am not an early riser!). Next week!

Also, Matthew is feeling much better! I took him to the doctor and he had an ear infection. I had no idea I just thought he had a really bad cold. So as we were driving home I asked him if he ear had been hurting and he said yes. And I said why didn't you tell me and he said, "Mom, my ear hurts." Thanks Matthew. Anyway, it is amazing what one day of antibiotics can do for a kid!

Easter

Well, we had a really quiet Easter weekend. My brother made a quick trip up to hang out with us for the weekend. Matthew and Brayden LOVE their Uncle Ryan. Brayden followed Ryan everywhere saying, "Comm on" (come on). It was cute!

We went out to Red Rock for a hike on Saturday and it was freezing! We even got hailed on! But it was a pretty hike but maybe we need to check the weather a little better next time (in my defense on our side of the valley the clouds had passed and it was sunny!)

Saturday night we colored Easter eggs and actually didn't get too messy, it was a miracle! Saturday night Matthew woke up in the middle of the night and threw up. And was really sick all day on Sunday. So we didn't have an Easter egg hunt. Matthew is finally feeling better so maybe now we will finally have our egg hunt (the eggs are all ready to go waiting in the closet!)
It was a nice quiet weekend, lots of time to reflect on the true meaning of Easter!

Disneyland Day 2 & 3

Day 2 was Matthew's 4th Birthday. So he got to wear a cool button that said Happy Birthday Matthew all day and well he wore it the next day too. It was fun and everywhere he went people told him happy birthday. He thought he was pretty cool!

The boys loved Autotopia. Matthew was is a terrible driver so it is a good thing that there are tracks. Brayden didn't have too much interest in driving he just liked watching all of the other cars. But let me tell you it isn't that easy to drive these cars from the passenger side!

On Thursday Disneyland was really busy so we headed over to California Adventure and there was hardly anyone there. It was great we walked onto most all of the rides!

Day 3:

Surprise! My parents decided to drive over and meet us for a day. The boys were excited and they had a great time with Grandma and Grandpa!

This is right outside the Casey Jr Train ride. My boys loves trains. Brayden called every tram, trolley, the monorail and almost everything on wheels a train. And not just any train they are all called Thomas. I tried to convince him that not all trains are called Thomas but he wouldn't have any of that and continued to scream Thomas everywhere we went!

Matthew was our keeper of the map! He was so funny anytime we were trying to decide to go anywhere he demanded to see the map and would point out a place for us to head to. He does this in the car too and will give Nate directions. It is pretty funny!

Brayden loves Mickey Mouse so I couldn't pass up the chance to go and see him again. Everywhere we go Brayden can find Mickey Mouse, i.e. at the grocery store on cereal boxes then he breaks out into the Hot dog song from Mickey Mouse's Clubhouse and he dances. So as pictures of Mickey Mouse are all over Disneyland we got serenaded a lot by Brayden.

My favorite ride was the Buzzlightyear ride. This was my first time and it was way fun! Matthew liked it too :)

Well, we had a great time and Matthew asks me almost every day if Disneyland is open and if we can go back now!

Disneyland Day 1

Well, last week Nate's bonus check came in the mail so we decided to go to Disneyland! Yea!! (I know not the smartest way to spend extra money these days but we are just trying to do our part in getting the economy going again :)

Matthew was afraid to go near Mickey Mouse and Brayden tried to rip his nose off. Poor Mickey!

The rockets were a big hit!

The haunted mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean scared Matthew a little. At first I didn't think that Matthew paid much attention as he didn't talk about it until the next morning. Nate had fallen asleep that night at the hotel with some ice cream in his hand and the ice cream melted all over the sheet(I was totally asleep during all of this and have no recollection) so Nate got up and took the sheet into the bathroom and tried to wipe it off but gave up and left the sheet in the bathroom. So the next morning I was helping Matthew use the bathroom and he kept asking me why the sheet was in the bathroom and why it was all dirty. I told him that I didn't know. Then he got this thoughtful look on his face and said really seriously, "Mom, did the pirates do it?" It was pretty funny!
Dumbo a classic ride!
Who doesn't love the carousal?
And the teacups seriously make me sick and Matthew thought that was hilarious! Well, we went 3 days totally so I will post some more pic soon!
